Latest position

Following the Inquiry, we hear that the administration of the Nursery Grant in Leicestershire is in a bigger mess than we thought. Whereas in September the County said they needed about £215,000 to bridge the gap they recently told the Government they wanted about £587,000 - and got it. We then heard that they couldn't be sure even this will be enough. Their predictions of children likely to require 3+ education have been found to be unreliable. As usual, the County Council are blaming everyone but themselves. Information is very poor.

The latest news is that they don't feel they have to 'reduce places' for the Spring Term. Not exavtly a straight answer, but it looks as if the 19 wards have been reprieved.
